This deep, glossy finish was first developed during our work on a large-scale ceiling installation at Cathédrale restaurant in Las Vegas. The client requested dark, moody frames in place of our usual brushed stainless steel, which inspired us to create this bold new aesthetic.
The Black Oxide finish is a specialized blackening process applied to our steel frames. It results in a sleek, dark sheen that we seal to prevent further oxidization, ensuring the finish remains rich and earthy with a natural oxide finish over time. For our machined brass components, we use a chemical treatment to accelerate the natural aging process, achieving a refined gun metal color that avoids the green patina often associated with aged brass. These parts are also sealed to protect against scratches.
This finish opens exciting possibilities for design, offering a dramatic, almost gothic aesthetic that pairs perfectly with modern, industrial, or minimalist interiors. The deep black tones of the Black Oxide finish create a bold statement, transforming our chandeliers into striking focal points that exude both elegance and edge.
