We’re heading into the 2nd quarter of 2021 with a fresh approach.

We’re highlighting our own projects and also those of other designers that deserve recognition. We want to celebrate YOU!

Basking in the Glow!

Atelier West approached us to contribute to the renovation of Grand Casino Baden’s PLÜ Restaurant and Lounge in Switzerland. We supplied 47 willowlamps to hang throughout the space. To illustrate the design concept of ‘luxurious nature’ Atelier West opted for our Ngoma Drum, Flower of Life, Moroccan Vases and Downlight Retrofits to illuminate the restaurant, bar and lounge areas.

We started our new year with a wonderful feature in the renowned Marie Claire Maison magazine. Two of our Mandala No. 2 chandeliers are pictured hanging in the passageway of a stylishly chic apartment in Chicago, USA.

The Lighting on the Wall!

2020 was a year of change and adaptation for all, including willowlamp! We adapted some of our signature chandeliers into a series of wall sconces. The intent was to create something beautiful yet smaller and more adaptable to design styles and budgets.

Projects We Love

Africa Unite

We love the new Nando’s Flame Studios at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg. The interior of this world-class recording studio was designed by Tracy Lynch of Studio Lee Lynch, who specified pieces from a variety of local designers to ignite the space. The result – a culmination of art, design and architecture – is an authentic expression of African design!

Night Lights

The third edition of the much-loved annual Spier Light Art Festival is set to take place from 19 March to 18 April 2021. By night, you can explore various installations at the estate, all incorporating light in some way. We are especially excited about The Singing Tree by The Willow Collective – an interactive piece that combines light, music and technology with design and motion. The music and lights surrounding you begin to adapt as your position changes…

Flora Pavilion

The Nanjing University of the Arts in China has used light reflections to create an innovative installation inspired by the form of a flower and the Roman flower goddess, Flora. Using stainless steel balls and tubes to form triangular meshes which are inlaid with a translucent PVC film, the structure changes visually according to its external environment. The weather and the angle of the viewer result in a different visual impact each time.
