We celebrate our 16th anniversary in July and this wonderful milestone would not have been possible without you – our clients and suppliers. Thank you for all your support over the years!
And then, let’s not forget our remarkable staff. Even now, abiding by the lockdown regulations, the willowlamp team continues to work in the most careful and efficient manner, to create signature and extraordinary pieces for your homes and projects.
Because it’s our birthday we can’t help but feel a tad nostalgic. We’re looking back at the various custom projects that we’ve completed for locations all around the world, the multiple awards won, and the stream of product innovations that we’ve launched in the last 6 000 days. Each venture has been a welcome challenge and opportunity and keeps us inspired for the future!
Here are just a few highlights from the many incredible interior design schemes and events we’ve been privileged enough to participate in – all of our projects are on our website should you wish to view more:
CROWN TOWERS IN PERTH, AUSTRALIA
Our most ambitious collaboration to date remains this colossal, custom art piece produced for the foyer of the 6-star Crown Towers hotel in Perth, Australia. There are four huge clusters, each weighing 3 tonnes, that are loosely based on our original Mandala No.1 design.
SOUTHERN FLAME FOR SOUTHERN GUILD
A sculptural piece of collectable design, the Southern Flame is our largest wall-mounted installation ever. Southern Guild exhibited this one-of-a-kind piece as part of Extra-Ordinary before showing it in New York City, where it was featured by the global style-setter The New York Times.
LIWA SUITES IN ABU DHABI, UAE
Inspired by Islamic sacred geometry, this massive custom piece is finished in multiple metallic hues. It was commissioned by Cape Town-based firm Design Union for a hotel foyer in Abu Dhabi.
EVENTS DESTINATION IN THE DRC
This majestic Giant Fuschia spans 4m and was custom-made for a private events venue in the Congo. It features smoke-hued outer chains and gradating chain from brass to copper for the inner chain layering.
And to think it all started with our now-iconic Flower of Life chandelier. This, our very first willowlamp design, is now a longstanding classic and mainstay of our collection. It remains a popular item even today, 16 years on. It has been featured in interiors right across the globe, in places such as the Bon Bon Bar in Sweden, Seerose Resort & Spa in Switzerland, the Mena House hotel in Egypt, and various other commercial and private spaces.
The longevity of this design and the symbolism it carries reminds us all that not only will we endure, but we will thrive. So please join us in celebrating this, the very happiest of birthdays! We’re making a wish for the success and rejuvenation of all!
